Obituary for Joseph Thomas Schoch Jr.

Joseph T. Schoch Jr., 68, passed away on Saturday May 19th, 2018 at home in Glen Ridge.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the O'Boyle Funeral Home, 309 Broad St. Bloomfield on Thursday at 9 AM. The funeral mass will be offered at Sacred Heart Church, 76 Broad St. Bloomfield at 10:30 AM. Interment Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8 PM.

Born in Upper Darby, PA, Joe lived in most of his life in Glen Ridge. He was a graduate of Glen Ridge High School before attending Seton Hall University and Aurora College. He was employed by the IBM Corporation for over 30 years, working in Marketing and Sales as a Consulting Marketing Representative.

Joe was an Army Veteran of the Viet Nam War earning 2 Bronze Stars, The National Defense Service Medal, as well as many other accolades.

Joe was the husband of Linda Schoch (nee Abernethy) for 45 years; father of Joseph T. Schoch III, Jennifer Hyacinth Schoch and Michael Stephen Schoch; brother of Eleanor Horgan and her husband Michael, Charles and his wife Kathy, Daniel and his wife Ellen, Margaret Heesen and her husband Jean, Michael and his wife Cheryl, John and his wife Teresa and Philip and his wife Gail.
